Third Thursday of Advent 2015

~Today we begin praying the O ANTIPHONS, scripturally based responses prayed during the week before Christmas. The O ANTIPHONS can be prayed as the Alleluia verse, as a hymn and/or before the Magnificat during Evening Prayer. These antiphons are most commonly found in the verses of the hymn O COME, O COME, EMMANUEL. Please refer to the link to the right for more information about the O ANTIPHONS.~

The O ANTIPHON for today is WISDOM:
    "O come, thou WISDOM from on high,
     Who orders all things mightily.
     To us the path of knowledge show,
     And teach us in her ways to go."

Commentary: The prophet Micah told us where Christ would be born.  "And you Bethlehem out of you shall He come forth unto me, that is to be the ruler in Israel."
